The Herno product was born from the intuition of Giuseppe Marenzi, driven by his commercial ability and the technical competence of his wife Alessandra. They feel the need to bind themselves tightly to their place of origin, taking their cue from the Erno river, which crosses the country, to label the most suitable product for Lake Maggiore: the raincoat. The H serves to harmonize the name internationalizing it. In this beginning there are all the values still existing in Herno S.p.A .:
– Strong local roots
– Pursuit of functionality beyond aesthetics
– Maintenance of creative and productive control
The second generation represented by Claudio Marenzi after 60 years of company history is enriched only by the awareness of all these values, determining its philosophy.
Made in Italy becomes a perceived value after having pursued it for 50 years naturally, determined by the awareness of the superior ability to any other manufacturing country to seek absolute quality. For this reason all Herno garments, with the exception of nylon quilts, are produced in Italy. However the totality of the production is carried out in structures controlled directly by Herno S.p.A.
The best feathers come from three geographically distant places: the French Perigord, the Russian Siberia and the Italian Lomellina. Claudio, in honor of the origins of his mother Alessandra in that valley, ensures the entire Italian production of the best goose feather.
Motivation Advertising campaign
The advertising campaign expresses Herno’s desire to remain a product brand, linked to a manufacturing formalism without indications of a pre-packaged life style. Pure product, synthesis of aesthetic functionality for a modern consumer.
Ecology and solar panels
Linked to its land, in the last decade the company has felt the need to make its work as less invasive as possible due to the nature that surrounds it. Here is the investment in photovoltaics that makes the company completely autonomous with regard to energy needs, saving hundreds of trees every year. But not only: a gradual reduction in energy requirements thanks to the acquisition of low-consumption machines. And another attention to the environmental impact of its structures camouflaging them in the local greenery.
